It serves as a natural classroom where elders share knowledge and pass down their ancient history through stories.

At night, the bright flames become their main line of defense, keeping wild animals away and protecting the camp.

Ella is located in Sri Lanka’s central highlands at 1,041m above sea level, known for its cool climate (17–25°C), tea estates, misty forests, valleys, streams, and rich birdlife often seen around forest edges and village landscapes.

For a group of 40+ travelers in the Gal Oya area, we set up fully equipped tents with essential amenities. A local “Veddah” guided them through the jungle, while a naturalist explained the surroundings.
